Mild America – Cold Mountain EP – Out Now
Mild America’s Cold Mountain EP is available now as a digital download. This is one of my favorite Mole releases of all time so I hope you will love it as much as I do. Cover design by the always awesome Phillip Rosieur.

Sharpie Crows

Sharpie Crows is genuine Psychic Wound Music. It’s a buzz, it’s a vibe, it’s a gas in the room that peels off your skin and paints your bones black. You know when you hear it, and you don’t hear it often, because most bands can’t do it. It’s staring into the void, and then pissing into the void. It’s a pig stuffed with firecrackers. It’s the sound of the Devil eating furniture in your living room. It never lasts very long. Sharpie Crows have taken an eternity of telepathic pain and stuffed it in a matchbox.
That matchbox has, in turn, been stuffed into computer, and Golf Course/Mass Grave will be released online via Mole Music on the 30th August 2010.
Purchasers of Sharpie Crows’ brief’n'gloomy masterpiece will also have access to a free download of demos, live favorites that never made it onto an official release for fear of damaging the band’s hard-won credibility. Many of them display a sense of fun and musical competence that will surprise fans who have never attended a live Sharpies show.
Under The Radar are previewing Golf Course/Mass Graves this week only so click HERE to listen.
Golf Course/Mass Grave will be available 30 from www.sharpiecrows.com.

With Love From…
I put a Mix Tape together for NZ based music site Under The Radar. You can download it by clicking on the picture below.
“Too often when musicians leave NZ to live overseas they are forgotten about and/or never heard from again – well not anymore. “With Love From” is a series of compilations we’re offering for stream or download that have been put together by bands/artists currently residing in cities abroad of music that they are surrounded by and of course something new from them”.

Golf Course/Mass Grave
Sharpie Crows newest offering Golf Course/Mass Grave will be available online via Mole Music on the 30th of August.
Golf Course/Mass Grave will be the band’s first release since moving to Melbourne and reflects the unrelenting misery and bitterness felt by the band in their first year as unemployed immigrants in Australia. Most of the songs are about genocide and/or tobacco, but the potentially depressing lyrical themes are, as always, leavened with wit and playful surprises. These songs are mysterious, limber, unpredictable; they suggest a wine-addled netherworld where cynical diplomats mingle with nihilistic zonked-out teens, somewhere between Addis Ababa, Warsaw and Wellington.

The Body Lyre – Number Two
The February/2nd track from The Body Lyres year long release “Escape Songs” is available now. “Chainsmoker” the name of the song is free to download from their Blog here or from their Bandcamp page here. This is my favorite song from this Body Lyre release thus far but with 10 songs to come I expect that to change over the coming months.
